STATEMENT OF SUPPORT:

I support the work of the Church Association, State Convention and the Southern Baptist Convention with its doctrinal stance presented in the Baptist Faith and Message.

STATEMENT OF BELIEF:

I believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God without error, as originally given by God, and is sufficient as our only infallible rule of faith and practice.

I believe in one God who is revealed in three persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. Each one is a distinct personality, yet all three make up the God-head.

I believe that God created the world in seven days.  He created a literal Adam and Eve, who were without sin until the fall.  Because of the fall of Adam and Eve, all people are under condemnation in sin and in need of a savior, which is Jesus Christ.  Without Christ as their savior, I believe that people will spend eternity in a literal Hell.

I believe that God the Son, Jesus Christ, was born of a virgin, lived a perfect life, died on a cross for the sin of the world, was buried and physically rose again.  The death of Jesus is the sufficient atoning sacrifice for the sins of the world.  His resurrection gave the victory to believers over sin and death.  Jesus will return again, a day which no man knows the hour. He will then judge the living and the dead.  His return is the blessed hope for which the Church eagerly awaits.

I believe in God the Holy Spirit, who is the comforter and counselor to the believers.  I believe the Holy Spirit is still at work today in this world and is actively working in the Church preparing it for Christ’s return.

I believe the Church is the body of Christ, of which Christ is the head.  The Church is to be a Christ-filled body of believers that penetrate and influence every sin-stained segment of the community, town, or city of which it is part.  The Church is to be a lighthouse of Christ’s love.  The rays of Christ’s love and hope should shine into every house in the community without distinction of race, wealth, or social status.  Since Christ died for all people and loves all people, the door of the Church should be open to all people.
